April is World Autism Awareness Month! While HANDS in Autism spreads awareness every month, World Autism Awareness Month is an opportunity for folks within the ASD community to celebrate their uniqueness and for the rest of the world to learn more about their peers. Check out the following resources and activities to learn, share, and celebrate this month.
From HANDS in Autism
10th Annual Autism Art Expo
Each year HANDS hosts an Autism Art Expo to highlight the creativity of individuals with ASD as well as provide a platform for local artists to celebrate the ASD community as well during Autism Awareness Month. Due to the pandemic, we are hosting the event online this year. There are many ways you can participate!
- Submit artwork to the expo!
- Participate in our Weekly Art Ask prompts on Facebook
- Send a video to handsart@iupui.edu where you answer “what does art mean to me?” or “what does autism mean to me?“.
