LCC Statement about upcoming events and COVID-19

To protect the health and welfare of individuals in the community and comply with state and federal protocols for community precautions and social distancing during the COVID-19 crisis, HANDS in Autism® has decided to postpone face-to-face LCC events and activities scheduled in the short-term. We’ll resume our usual activities and events, following the lead of state and local guidelines.

While this delays a face-to-face approach to utilizing the strengths and insights of the LCC community to strategically address needs for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the region, it does not prevent us from creating forward movement in this initiative by using novel approaches to interaction and activity.

We will be in touch with you soon regarding virtual opportunities for you and community stakeholders to engage in that will address your region’s LCC goals and ultimately improve the lives of individuals with ASD, their families and those supporting them.

HANDS will post updates on our website and in our e-Update and LCC newsletters regarding alternate activities and opportunities for furthering the initiatives of your local cadre. If you are not already receiving our newsletters, sign up on our Mailing Lists page.

Thank you for your support of HANDS in Autism®— and for all you do daily to improve the lives of others. Take care of yourselves and don’t hesitate to reach out to us at HANDS@iupui.edu, if you have any questions.

Cordially,

The HANDS in Autism® Team
