Next Steps is a seminar in which the staff from HANDS in Autism® Interdisciplinary Training and Resource Center and the Wabash Valley Local Community Cadre (LCC) in Autism (namely, educational, medical, and community organizations, and families). will discuss general information about diagnosis, adjusting to diagnosis, and how to make appropriate treatment decisions. A comprehensive manual regarding diagnosis, treatment, rights, and family support is distributed (one per household). No direct or individual consultation on treatment decisions will be given. Additionally, since child care will not be provided, we ask that children not attend.

Next Steps is primarily designed for primary caregivers who have a child that has recently been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. However, this seminar may also be beneficial for other caregivers, educational or therapy professionals, and other adult family members.

Next Steps is a seminar in which the staff from HANDS in Autism® Interdisciplinary Training and Resource Center and the Southwest Local Community Cadre (LCC), Evansville Chapter (namely, Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, Deaconess and St. Mary’s hospitals, and local families) will discuss general information about diagnosis, adjusting to diagnosis, and how to make appropriate treatment decisions. A comprehensive manual regarding diagnosis, treatment, rights, and family support is distributed (one per household). No direct or individual consultation on treatment decisions will be given.
