HANDS in Autism® is proud to recognize Jennifer David as a recipient of this year’s Driver Of Innovative Service and Implementation (DISI) Award. Jennifer is a passionate advocate, entrepreneur, and community organizer whose work has left a lasting mark on Southern Indiana and beyond.
As founder and director of Outward Bound Community Services, she leads a for-profit agency dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families across multiple counties. Her efforts extend into innovative, inclusive ventures such as the Outward Bound Community Market, which fosters meaningful participation in community life for individuals with disabilities and health challenges.
Jennifer’s impact also reaches through her nonprofit, the Kimberly Renee Foundation, which hosts disability resource fairs and family support programs in underserved areas—recently expanding into Morgan County. Beyond her organizational leadership, she serves on Indiana’s Statewide Independent Living Council (INSILC), contributing her expertise to advance disability rights and independent living policies statewide.
Her commitment to raising awareness continues through media as the creator and host of the “Disability Indiana” podcast, where she elevates disability voices and sheds light on critical issues such as Medicaid policy and gaps in autism assessment. As a late-diagnosed autistic adult, Jennifer brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work, shaping advocacy grounded in equity, visibility, and empowerment for the disability community. The DISI Award honors her leadership, innovation, and unwavering dedication to building stronger, more inclusive communities.
