Celebrating Kurt: A Decade of Dedication
Since 2013, Kurt has been a cornerstone of the HANDS Center — serving as both a HANDS Program Support Specialist and #HANDSmade Program Mentor. His commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for adults has helped shape the HANDSmade program into a powerful partnership that fills real organizational needs while uplifting individual purpose.
As a past nominee for the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Healthcare Heroes Award, Kurt’s impact hasn’t slowed down. He continues to serve as a cherished Wagon Wrangler at Riley Children's Health, bringing comfort and joy to young patients and their families as well as the many he works with during his shifts.
Since 2016, Kurt has hosted Coffee with Kurt — a warm, welcoming space that connects the community with updates and opportunities from both the HANDS Center and now Riley Hospital. Through mentoring HANDSmade participants and sharing stories over coffee, Kurt exemplifies the heart of this mission: opportunity, connection, and care.
