The HANDSmade program is an initiative at HANDS in Autism® that provides a structured work and learning environment for individuals on the autism spectrum or with other social, communication, or behavioral challenges. Through volunteer and employment opportunities, HANDS creates an environment for occupational growth, skill acquirement, and support in order to best assist HANDSmade participants with the support they need to gain the behavioral, functional, and vocational skills needed to go on to seek meaningful employment, high school diplomas, and increased independence. Individuals who have participated in the HANDSmade program assist HANDS staff on a wide variety of projects from data entry to material assembly. In fact, when you order materials from the HANDS store, you are ordering materials that have been hand made by a HANDSmade program participant.
